We are proud to roll out detailed results of applications submitted for DESIGNSCAPES’ first Open Call, which closed on November 30. The results are impressive not only for the overall number of projects submitted, but the diversity of the countries and cities represented. There were a total of 263 applications from 29 different countries.
As an innovative EU project to find design-driven solutions for urban challenges in Europe, DESIGNSCAPES is a consortium of 12 partners from 10 different countries. For this Open Call, 23% of applications are from countries beyond the DESIGNSCAPES consortium, such as Lithuania and Romania. The most applications arrived from projects based in Italy, followed by the Netherlands and Germany.
In the first Open Call for projects, DESIGNSCAPES is committed to funding at least 50 applications with 5k€ for their feasibility study, with results expected in early 2019. The Second Open Call is OPEN NOW and will run until July 31, 2019. It aims to fund 25 prototypes with up to 25k€. DESIGNSCAPES is seeking projects from entrepreneurs, innovators, designers, and anyone using design to tackle global challenges within urban environments.
