About
To further build the capacity for Design-enabled Innovation in cities among a broader target audience of practitioners, policy makers, and future innovators, DESIGNSCAPES has developed a Capacity Building Program, comprehensive of a set of Design-enabled Innovation Training Modules.
First, a Design-enabled Innovation Capabilities Framework has been elaborated that includes and adequately organises the variety of skills and capabilities needed to successfully conduct Design-enabled Innovation in the urban context. This capacity building framework has also guided the pedagogical content creation of capacity building activities.
With the DEI Capabilities Framework as a baseline, a series of Training Modules have been co-developed with DESIGNSCAPES funded initiatives. By infrastructuring a process of collaborative reflection with urban innovators selected across Europe, new knowledge, challenges and strategies upon Design-enabled Innovation practice have been co-defined, with the aim of building innovators’ capacity to act as Design-enabled Innovation ambassadors beyond the DESIGNSCAPES project.
The result is a set of ten DEI Training Modules that differently address the critical Design-enabled Innovation capabilities to conduct Design-enabled Innovation processes in urban contexts, enabling innovators across Europe and beyond to further diffuse Design-enabled Innovation capabilities in society.
