Training Module on Funding for Mission-driven ventures.
Trainers: Alicia Calderón González and Alberto Magni from Delft University of Technology
Session 1
Session 2
For mission-oriented ventures, it may be especially complicated to become financially sustainable or to continuously attract funding that allows the initiative to continue growing and/or scaling. To address this aspect, the TUDelft team has developed this Training Module to focus on financial sustainability and (alternative) funding options for mission-driven ventures like yours.
The training features, in the second session, the participation of social entrepreneurs and consultants, namely:
Joachim Kleim from Coompanion https://coompanion.se,
Jean-François Alberghi from Asociacion Con Valores https://cvalores.org,
Cecilia Colombo from Kilowatt https://consulting.kilowatt.bo.it/en/,
Irene Conversano from Butterflyworks https://www.butterflyworks.org.
The module is structured in two sessions. The first session offers an overview of available alternative financial and funding options, and a reflective exercise to explore with innovators from the initiatives selected within the DESIGNSCAPES program, how some of these could be a better fit to a team and initiative’s characteristics. The second session involves a roundtable discussion with invited experts, to discuss shared challenges as well as strategies that can help a venture’s financial sustainability and funding.
The templates used in the session, and the answers of participants from the reflective exercise in break-out rooms, can be found in the slides below.
